HOW TO HAVE THE BEST NASHVILLE GIRLS TRIP

THE BEST AREAS TO EXPLORE DURING YOUR NASHVILLE WEEKEND TRIP

12 SOUTH

12 South is a super cute area to shop around, explore murals, and cafe hop. This neighborhood is filled with amazing cafes and restaurants like The Frothy Monkey, Five Daughters Bakery, and Bar Taco. There are also so many fun boutiques to shop around at. Check out Reese Witherspoon’s boutique, Draper James for clothings and home decor.

THE GULCH

Similar to 12 South, you’ll find shopping, restaurants, and cafes here in the Gulch. The Gulch is an upscale neighborhood known for its high-end boutiques, chic hotels, and trendy restaurants.

Here you’ll find popular Nashville spots such as Milk & Honey, and Kittenish – an upscale boutique owned by Jessie James Decker. If you are on the hunt for fun murals, in the Gulch you’ll see the famous “What Lifts You” Wings mural.

DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE

Visit downtown Nashville to experience the heart of Music City. You’ll find museums, restaurants, historic buildings, and of course – Broadway.

On Broadway, which is the main street downtown, you’ll find dozens of Honkey Tonk bars, live music, and shopping. Downtown is the most visited area in the city and a night out on Broadway is a must to add to your Nashville girls trip itinerary.

TOP THINGS TO DO ON YOUR NASHVILLE GIRLS TRIP

CENTENNIAL PARK

Centennial Park is a massive urban park located west of downtown Nashville. Here you can see the Parthenon and enjoy walking trails along the water.

If you are a Taylor Swift fan, they recently dedicated a bench to Taylor Swift, and it’s located in Centennial Park.

ENJOY LIVE MUSIC

There are a zillion places in the city to enjoy live music or get tickets to a concert. Once you plan your Nashville girls weekend dates, look to see what artists might be playing during your visit. You can typically find reasonably priced concert tickets.

COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME

Even if you aren’t the craziest fan of country music, I still think that the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is worth visiting. It holds hundreds of artifacts and pieces of memorabilia from famous artists over the past several decades.

Tickets are $28 and you can purchase them online beforehand to choose a timeslot. Book your Country Hall of Fame and Museum tickets here.

THE NASHVILLE PARTHENON

The Parthenon is located in Centennial Park and is Nashville’s replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece. It was built as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition in 1897. You can purchase tickets for $10 to visit the museum inside.

There is also plenty of green space surrounding the Parthenon to walk, enjoy a picnic, or bike. The Nashville Parthenon took nearly 10 years to build and is an incredible piece of architecture. There are 46 Doric columns to see on the outside.

HONKEY TONK BUS

A highlight of your Nashville girls trip will most certainly be a honky tonk party bus ride through the city. I suggest Honky Tonk Party Express. I have now done their Honky Tonk bus tours a few times and it’s always a blast.

The bus ride is about a 3 hours ride through the city and includes a bartender but you will have you bring your own drinks. Make sure to create a fun playlist too! If you have a large group, it comes out to be a reasonable price per person – I haven’t spent more than $50. The honky tonk bus is a must for any girls weekend in Nashville.

VISIT MUSIC VALLY

Music Vally is home to the iconic landmark, the Grand Ole Opry where they host live radio shows, new acts, and offer tours. Music Vally is located 10 miles north of downtown Nashville.

Here, you can shop, visit the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theater, tour the Grand Old Opry, and see plenty of other live entertainment.

SEARCH FOR NASHVILLE’S MURALS

Nashville is filled with street art on almost every corner, something that makes this city so unique! There are so many fun wall murals all over. If you visit the Gulch and 12 South, you’ll find many of the famous murals.

However, there really is street art on every corner so you shouldn’t have to wander far to find unique spots. Here are a few popular walls you might recognize from Instagram along with their locations:

Book a murals and mimosas tour here.

BOWLING AT PINEWOOD SOCIAL

For a more relaxing afternoon with the gals, head to Pinewood Social to brunch and bowl in their retro-style bowling alley! Pinewood Social is a trendy and unique spot for everyone to enjoy. Their food is amazing too.

Pinewood Social offers brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, so if you’re not here during the weekend you can make a dinner reservation and bowl.

WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK IN NASHVILLE

The food scene in Nashville is certainly something to highlight in this Nashville girls weekend guide! There are great cafes, trendy brunch spots, and amazing cocktail bars.

THE BEST COFFEE IN NASHVILLE

  • The Frothy Monkey: The Frothy Monkey is a must for coffee! It’s located in the 12 South area and the coffee is delicious. Try the oat milk latte with honey. So freaking good.
  • White Bison Coffee: Another great coffee shop and cafe in the 12 South neighborhood.
  • Red Bicycle Coffee and Crepes: Located in Germantown, this cafe has a great food and drink menu.

BRUNCH PLACES IN NASHVILLE

  • Pinewood Social: As mentioned earlier in the guide, this is a great place to include in your Nashville girls trip itinerary. I’ve eaten here for brunch and it was amazing. I do suggest making reservations, especially if you are going on a weekend. The food is great and the prices are reasonable.
  • The Buttermilk Ranch: The food here is SO good. Located in 12 South, Buttermilk Ranch serves all the brunch staples like toasts, benedicts, and more. They also have great drinks – I had a blueberry mimosa and it was the perfect way to start the day.
  • Milk and Honey: Another brunch favorite. Milk & Honey is located in the Gulch area. I do recommend making reservations honestly wherever you go to brunch, especially if you have a bigger group.
  • The Hampton Social: You might recognize the cute Instagrammable wall from this restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect for a Nashville girls trip and they have a great menu. The Hampton Social is also a great place for cocktails.

THE BEST LUNCH AND DINNER SPOTS  IN NASHVILLE

  • Bar Taco: You have to visit Bar Taco during your girls weekend in Nashville. They offer many different kinds of tacos with delicious flavors. I like how they sell tacos ala carte, this way you can try different kinds. Also, don’t skip out on the margaritas. Get the spicy marg!
  • Butchertown Hall: This is a cute restaurant and beer garden serving American and Tex-Mex style cuisine. They have a great cocktail menu as well.
  • The Smiling Elephant: For the best Thai food in Nashville, visit the Smiling Elephant.
  • Church and Union: A chic restaurant serving American dishes, craft cocktails, and wines. The food here was incredible. I highly recommend the poke bowl, fried green tomatoes, and the agnolotti. So good.
  • El Fuego Nashville: For great Latin American & Mexican dishes head to El Fuego. They have yummy margaritas as well.
  • San Antonio Taco Co: For quick & delicious tacos.

SWEET TREATS IN NASHVILLE

  • Five Daughters Bakery: Located in 12 South, Five Daughters Bakery is a Nashville staple. Make sure to try their signature 100 layer donut!
  • Baked on 8th: This is the cutest bakery serving pies, pastries, custom cakes, and cookies. I had a pop tart pastry from Baked on 8th and it was 10/10.
  • Wanna Spoon Cereal Bar: This is the cutest concept. They offer all different kinds of cereal, milkshakes, coffee, and ice cream. The outside atmosphere here is really great too.

WHERE TO GET COCKTAILS IN NASHVILLE

  • White Limozeen: If you are here for a bachelorette or girls weekend in Nashville, White Limozeen needs to be on your Nashville bucket list. This is a Dolly Parton-themed rooftop bar and pool at The Graduate Hotel in Nashville. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time.
  • Harriet’s Rooftop Restaurant & Bar: Location on top of the 1 Hotel Nashville, this rooftop bar is a vibe. The atmosphere and the drinks were amazing. I recommend visiting during sunset.
  • Saint Anejo: For delicious margaritas.
  • The Bobby Hotel Rooftop Lounge: For after-dinner drinks.
  • L27 Rooftop Lounge: Another great rooftop lounge.
  • Attaboy
  • The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club

BEST SPOTS FOR A HANGOVER CURE NASHVILLE

Whether you are looking for a late-night bite or a hangover cure in the morning, I’ve listed out a couple of yummy options.

  • Hattie B’s Hot Chicken: A Nashville girls weekend isn’t complete without trying the famous hot chicken. I suggest stopping by Hattie B’s for delicious fried chicken.
  • Taco Bell Cantina: Okay, basic I know. But I had to include Taco Bell Cantina on this list. It really hit the spot after being at a concert all evening. And the alcoholic baja blast was so freaking good.
  • Hotdog Stand on Broadway: On Broadway, you’ll see so many hotdogs stands open late for late-night bites. These are actually so good and a great way to end a crazy night out.
  • The Grilled Cheeserie: The best grilled cheese ever.

NIGHTLIFE IN NASHVILLE

You can’t have a Nashville girls trip without a night out on the town in Nashville. The two best areas for a night out in the city are Broadway (duh) and Midtown.

Broadway is the main street downtown lined with all sorts of bars and live music – this is one of the most visited spots in the city. Tourists from all around will enjoy the nightlife scene here so it is typically more crowded than other areas in Nashville.

BARS ON BROADWAY

  • Tootsies: Tootsies has a fun rooftop space
  • Jason Aldean: Great rooftop and live music
  • Honkey Tonk Central
  • The Stage on Broadway
  • Whisky Row
  • Tin Roof

On the other hand, Midtown is a great place to go out and an area that is a bit less chaotic. Midtown is the local’s nightlife hub in the city.

MIDTOWN BARS

  • Winners Bar & Grill
  • The Red Door Saloon
  • Kung Foo Saloon

HOW TO GET AROUND NASHVILLE

The best way to get around the city is by Uber. Uber is affordable and efficient. I suggest taking Uber to popular locations such as 12 South, The Gulch, or Broadway because, in each of these areas, there are so many things to do. Once you are in one of these areas of town you can spend the afternoon walking from place to place!
