Boutique Hotels in Dublin city centre
As mentioned above, most of the hotels on this list are right in Dublin’s city center. I wanted to make sure each property was conveniently located. Each of the ten properties listed in this guide is near popular sites in Dublin like the Ha’Penny Bridge, Grafton Street, and St. Stephen’s Green.
Which area of Dublin is best to stay in?
I suggest Dublin’s city center but this obviously depends on your travel style. If you’re looking for easy access to Dublin’s main attractions, consider staying in Temple Bar, St. Stephen’s Green, or Grafton Street.
These areas are all walkable with plenty of things to see and do and have many amazing boutique hotels. On the other hand, if you are looking for somewhere a bit quieter and low-key, you can stay in the Docklands or Ballsbridge. These areas are more relaxed but still not far from all the action.

What is the difference between a hotel and a boutique hotel?
Boutique hotels are typically smaller and uniquely designed compared to standard hotels. They give you a more local and personalized feel. Boutique hotels focus on local culture and history (which is why I love boutique hotels so much).
You’ll see this in their decor and architecture. In Dublin, they do a great job of blending old-world charm with modern luxury. I think you’ll always get a more authentic experience when choosing a boutique hotel over a standard hotel
What is the nicest area in Dublin?
There are plenty of beautiful areas in Dublin. Here are a few of my favorites:
- St. Stephen’s Green & Grafton Street: These areas are central and absolutely stunning with amazing shopping, restaurants, and boutique hotels.
- Merrion Square: This area is known for its stunning Georgian architecture and cultural sites like the National Gallery. Also conveniently located.
- Ballsbridge: A more relaxed area — more residential.
- Temple Bar: This spot is lively and packed with pubs, restaurants, and entertainment. If you want to be in the center of all the action, consider the Temple Bar area.
Best 5-star hotel in Dublin?
Dublin has several wonderful five-star hotels. A couple of great ones mentioned on this list are The Merrion Hotel. Stay here for timeless luxury and Michelin-star dining.
Also, The Shelbourne is a great option. With an upscale spa and gorgeous rooms, this is an incredible five-star stay in Dublin. And lastly, The Dylan Hotel is a gorgeous five-star boutique hotel in Dublin.
