The Best Santorini Instagram Spots
1. Sunset in Oia
Oia is seriously one of the most picturesque places in the world and although you really can’t get a bad photo here, I suggest snapping some during sunset because it’s amazing.
There is a reason Oia is the place to be for one of the best sunsets in the world. It doesn’t disappoint.
However, because sunset is one of the most crowded and popular times, it will likely be hard to get photos with few people in the background. So, for the rest of the photo locations in Oia throughout this guide, I suggest waking up during sunrise for the perfect shot.
2. Castle of Oia
For amazing views of the sea, visit Oia Castle situated in the picturesque village of Oia. These Byzantine ruins were the home of the Argri family under Venetian rule.
This is a very popular spot in Santorini so make sure to visit during sunrise to avoid the crowds. A fun fact is Oia Castle used to be a watch tower to protect the island from pirates!
During the summer the sun rises bright and early during the 5 AM hour. It was hard waking up but well worth it. There’s something so amazing about having a place as beautiful as Oia all to yourself. Watching the sunrise, and running around town at 6 AM shooting content was seriously incredible.
3. Imerovigli Village
Imerovigli village sits on a clifftop that overlooks Santorini’s caldera islands and it has one of the most scenic views in the world. The photos I took here were the favorite I took during my entire time in Greece.
We hadn’t planned to visit this area so I’m so happy we ended up here. But you 100% need to make time for Imerovigli Village during your time in Santorini. It was much quieter than Oia and the contrast of the white buildings and the deep blue water make this the perfect Santorini Instagram spot.
4. Ammoudi Bay
Ammoudi Bay is right at sea level on the water with many different seafood restaurants and you can even go cliff jumping here. It’s a must while in Santorini and also a great photo spot.
As you wander down the zillion stairs to get to the sea, you get a beautiful view of Oia in the background. Photos down in the water are amazing as well.
5. Blue Domes in Oia
The blue domes of Anastasis Church are easily one of the most photographed spots and iconic views in Santorini. Because this is such a popular spot, you should get here early.
6. Venetsanos Winery
While in Santorini, you need to do a wine tour – I’ll link the wine tour I did here. During the tour, we stopped at Venetsanoes Winery and it was the most beautiful winery I have ever visited. The views were absolutely unreal. Like, what’s better than wine with a view?
7. Three Bells of Fira
Don’t forget to explore the town of Fira while you are in Santorini. There are some amazing shops, restaurants, and cafes to visit.
The entire village is honestly very picturesque (like the rest of Santorini) but make sure to see the Three Bells of Fira. It’s a Greek Catholic church known for its blue dome and three bells with a view. The Fira Bell Tower makes for one of the best Santorini Instagram spots.

8. Kastro Oia House
I’m sure you’ve seen these cave houses all over your Instagram feed because it’s one of the best photo spots in Santorini. The Kastro Oia house is a hotel so if you are here shooting in the early hours of the day, just be quiet and respectful because guests are staying here.
These beautiful orange houses make the perfect photo spot in Santorini. Click here to book Kastro Oia House.
9. From The Sea
Another amazing Santorini Instagram spot, (and 1000/10 experience) is the view from a catamaran. If you are in Santorini you need to book a sunset catamaran cruise to live out the best Mamma Mia moments.
The catamaran in Santorini was not only a highlight of my trip but one of the best moments of my life. I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s also obviously very scenic, watching the sunset from the ocean with the beautiful town of Oia in the background was incredible.
Check out my post here with all of the best Santorini catamaran tours.
10. Red Beach
Red Beach is located on the south end of the island in Akrotiri village. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Fira. The volcanic red sand against the blue ocean makes this such a unique spot to visit. Red Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Santorini.
