With many massive hotel chains and high-rise resorts, It can be hard to find a cozy, intimate place to stay while traveling. That’s not the case at Kona Tiki Hotel. Here you will find such a welcoming and local experience right on the Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii.

This post is all about Kona Tiki Hotel on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Kona Tiki Hotel provided such an accommodating experience, it was the perfect boutique stay on the Big Island. If you are looking for where to stay in Kona, then Kona Tiki Hotel is your place! Thank you to Kona Tiki Hotel for hosting my stay, and as always all opinions are my own. 

 

KONA TIKI HOTEL – LOCATION

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location. Kona Tiki Hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of Kona on the coast just a short drive from Kona’s airport. The hotel is within walking distance to many cafes and restaurants. And with a car, you are just a short drive from beaches, snorkel spots, and all that Kona has to offer.

AMENITIES

POOL

One of the highlights of this property is the beautiful pool right on the ocean. I could have spent time out here all day watching the waves. The sunsets and sunrises are also beautiful from here! There are plenty of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas to enjoy the view and good company. 

SPACIOUS ROOMS

I was impressed with how spacious the rooms were. The was a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and nice counter space. There was also a spacious deck with a table and chairs. Another perfect spot for working and watching the sunrises. 

I loved how all of the rooms are ocean-facing, listening to the waves as you fall asleep is something hard to find at many properties. There is no air conditioning on the property but this is typical in Hawaii. When I visited Maui a couple of years back, many properties did not have air conditioning there either. There are fans provided and we left only the screen door closed so there was a great breeze, especially since we were right on the ocean.   

PARKING

Parking is free, and limited spaces are located right in front of the hotel. It does help to have a smaller car because the lot can be tight. There is additional street parking nearby, but we never had a problem finding a spot in front of the hotel.  

BEACH GEAR

Kona Tiki Hotel provided beach equipment which was so great considering we didn’t even travel with beach towels. They had snorkel gear, beach chairs, and towels that we borrowed during our stay. It was nice to have this gear while exploring the island. 

WHAT TO DO NEARBY

There are so many great things to do and see here on the Big Island. Kona Tiki Hotel provided great recommendations around the island so don’t hesitate to ask if you need some ideas! KONA TIKI HOTEL – FINAL THOUGHTS

I couldn’t recommend Kona Tiki Hotel Enough. It is the most charming property right on the ocean. It’s quaint and homey with only a handful of guests. Kona Tiki Hotel is not only a great place to relax but the perfect base for exploring the rest of the island. If you are looking for a local place to stay in Kona, Hawaii, Kona Tiki Hotel is the place!
