Montenegro is a charming country in the Balkans known for its dramatic beauty and diverse cultural influences. On the stunning Adriatic coastline, you’ll find several breathtaking beaches – making Montenegro the perfect spot for a summer holiday.

I have visited Montenegro a couple of times now, once during a day trip from Dubrovnik and the second time around I visited during my 4 month-long Europe trip. I have to say, the Balkans is a majorly underrated region in Europe. It’s gorgeous, safe, easy to navigate, and much less busy than in Western Europe.

Kotor is a captivating city, one that should certainly be on your European bucket list. And I love that you can find nice beaches here! In this guide, I’m sharing all of the best beaches in and near Kotor to visit during your trip. Although the old town is lovely to explore, it’s nice to get away from the crowds and relax by the water.

Kotor Beach, also known as “Plaža Kotor,” is a conveniently located beach just about a 15-minute walk from the old town. It’s a pebbly beach with clear and calm water, due to its location in the Bay of Kotor. It’s easily accessible for both locals and tourists to enjoy.

Because of its great location, it will be crowded in the summer months and especially during the weekends so just keep this in mind if you plan on visiting. There are a few nearby cafes and restaurants with the old town being so close, you can get just about anything pretty easily.

Kotor Beach is small, but it’s perfect for a quick dip while enjoying the captivating Bay of Kotor.
