The Bondi to Bronte coastal walk is a famous coastal trail in Sydney, Australia known for its stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and gorgeous beaches. It’s a popular walk for locals and tourists alike – great for a leisurely stroll or a morning run. The walk begins at Bondi Beach and ends at Bronte Beach.

Bondi Beach

You’ll start the coastal walk in Bondi Beach. I suggest getting a nice breakfast here to begin your walk. You can even enjoy some time at Bondi Beach before you start the walk. There is plenty to do in Bondi – shopping, cafes, restaurants, etc.

Mackenzies Point

Mackenzies Point is one of the first landmarks along the way. You’ll get the most amazing views of Bondi Beach and the surrounding coastline from here.

Mackenzies Point looks out to Mackenzies Bay, a small inlet on the coast between Bondi and Tamarama Beach. This stop is just about the halfway point between Bondi and Bronte. Stop for a few photos and take in the lovely views.  

If you are here during the right time of year you may get lucky and see whales migrating!

Tamarama Beach 

The next stop on the coastal walk is Tamarama Beach. Often called, “Glamarama” by locals, this is a gorgeous beach nestled between two headlands. It’s a wonderful spot for surfing and those looking to sunbathe. If you aren’t in a hurry, stop here to watch the surfers. 

The rip currents can be strong in this area so it’s a great stop to relax and enjoy a snack. If you are here in Sydney in late October to early November, you’ll get to see the “Sculptures by the sea” 

Sculptures by the Sea

“Sculptures by the Sea” is an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition that takes place between Bondi Beach and Tamarama Beach. The exhibit is typically up for about three weeks from late October to early November. The dates vary from year to year so check the official website for details. 

This beautiful exhibit is the most popular outdoor art exhibition in Australia and it’s free to visit. The Sculptures by the Sea features art by both Australian and overseas artists.

Bronte Beach 

After about 2.5 kilometers you’ll reach Bronte Beach, a picturesque beach with a laid-back vibe. Here you can enjoy the the beach and the Bronte Baths which is a saltwater rock pool similar to the Bondi Icebergs. 

Bronte Beach has picnic areas, barbecues, showers, bathrooms, and a kid’s playground. There are also cafes close by for you to pick up a meal or a drink. Enjoy the coastal views, watch surfers (or go surfing), swim, and snorkel. There’s plenty to do at Bronte Beach!

Yes, there are benches and seating available along the walk and fountains to fill your water bottle. There are also cafes in Tamarama and Bronte that you can stop in for a coffee and a snack.
